Michelle

Isis

Technician

Isis is from Seattle, Washington, and moved to Colorado to work in the equine veterinary field. She has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in animal and veterinary sciences from Tuskegee University and she intends to go on to become a veterinarian! Isis loves veterinary medicine because she likes to make a difference in people’s lives, even if it is small. She says, “to love this planet is to love all its inhabitants which include animals. The feeling of being able to help, treat, and take care of animals is a blessing, especially when they cannot communicate in a way that humans normally understand. But in vet med the professionals that work in this career develop an understanding for animals and are able to communicate in a way they understand to better serve them. It’s a field where the learning never stops, and the service is unyielding.”

Outside of work, Isis spends time with her cat Ocean and her snake Tatsumi. She also loves to explore Colorado, play instruments, go hiking and horseback riding, and hang out with friends.
