  • Jason Johnson
    DVM, MS
    Medical Director, Veterinarian

    Dr. Johnson attended the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. He is a skier, avid runner and cyclist. He enjoys spending time outside of work with his wife and daughter. In addition to his veterinary doctorate, Dr. Johnson holds a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Miami. In his early professional career, he worked with several specialists and has developed interests in ophthalmology, dentistry, and internal medicine. Dr. Johnson has been at Laurel for 7 years.

  • Susan Infante
    DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Susan K. Infante is from Arkansas and enjoys a busy family that includes 3 miniature horses. She studied Chemistry before earning her Doctorate at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Infante completed her internship at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital and moved to Colorado to work at the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado. She joined Laurel Veterinary Clinic in 2007 and appreciates dentistry, orthopedic (and general) surgery and emergency medicine. Dr. Infante is a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, the AVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association. She has also been at Laurel for 11 years.

  • Chelsea Schuster
    DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Schuster is a graduate of the University of Illinois Veterinary School. Her favorite domains of veterinary medicine include internal medicine and pain management. Dr. Schuster has been at Laurel for 5 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 labrador retrievers, Berkeley and Duncan.

  • Margo Hennet
    DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Hennet earned her veterinary degree at Colorado State University. She is also trained and certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.  Originally from Maryland, Dr. Hennet has also called Vermont, Texas, and now Colorado her homes. She enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and two mostly-good dogs

  • Mandy Boos DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Mandy Boos graduated from Colorado State University with an undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences in 1998.  She went on to pursue her veterinary degree at the University of Missouri, graduating in 2003.  Her favorite things about veterinary medicine are dentistry, wellness care, and senior patient care/pain management.  Dr. Boos also loves that every day is different in general practice and that she gets to see a little bit of everything!  She currently resides in Denver with her two children. They share their home with a Boston Terrier, named Goose man (from Top Gun) and two gray tabby cats named Fiona and Beast (from Disney).  In her spare time, you can find Dr. Boos out enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer or various activities with her children (basketball, dance, playing the guitar, and Girl Scouts).

  • Ken Bixel
    VMD, MS
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Ken Bixel is a native Oregonian and enjoys cycling, skiing and running. He and his wife have 2 young kids and 1 cat. Dr. Bixel is interested in preventative health care and believes it is key to your pets happiness. He is always amazed at the complexity of the body and its systems and being able to analyze data in order to better understand it.

    Dr. Bixel earned his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and has a Masters Degree in Biology. He has authored several scientific papers and is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bixel is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the AVMA and the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society. He likes all areas of veterinary care, especially critical care medicine and emergency surgery.

  • Nicole Samson
    Senior Veterinary Technician

    Nicole is originally from a small rural town in Northern Ohio. She grew up in the country and always had a special place in her heart for animals. She always dreamed of moving out west and in 2007 that dream came true for her and her family. Nicole is the proud mother of three children: Leif, London, and Phoenix. She also owns two dogs; Patsy Climber, a Louisiana Catahoula leopard dog, and Emma Rose, an English Staffordshire Terrier, as well as one cat; Naveena, a Bengal. 

  • Cyndi Norris
    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Cyndi was born and raised in Colorado. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2015 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She is registered with the CACVT as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Cyndi's favorite parts of the veterinary field are dentistry, emergency, critical care and puppy/kitten visits.

    When not working, Cyndi likes spending time outside, camping, hiking and being at the lake with her husband, their two sons and their labradors Moose and Finnley.

    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Chelsey is originally from Maryland and moved to Colorado in 2013. She has been a technician for 7 years. Before joining our team, Chelsey worked in ophthalmology. She really enjoys emergency medicine as well. Chelsey has 2 rescue dogs and lives in Denver. Outside of work she enjoys hiking with her dogs and playing kickball.

  • Jennifer Askew
    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Jennifer is originally from Orange County, California. She moved to Colorado January 2016. She has worked in the animal industry for 8 years, both as a doggie day care attendant and was a registered veterinary technician in California before moving to Colorado. She has 3 dogs, Rufio, Maui, and Pele.

  • Jessica Mera
    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Jessica grew up in Maryland, then lived in Florida for 8 years. She moved to Colorado August 2018.  She loves taking care of patients and helping in their recovery process from surgery or sick visits . When she is not working she is exploring the outdoors of Colorado with her husband and dog Gizmo. She also shares her home 2 cats Emmy and Silas.

    Veterinary Technician

    Originally from the midwest Mary moved to Colorado after receiving her technician degree from NDSU.  She initially worked in veterinary general practice for a couple years and then moved on to a specialty practice for nearly 6 years.  After beginning her family Mary spent time as a stay at home mom to her 2 children, she recently returned to the field and is delighted to be part of the Laurel team. Outside of work she enjoys caring for her family, sewing, gardening, reading, and volunteering in various aspects at her children’s school.  She shares her home with two cats and two dogs.

    Senior Veterinary Assistant

    Dani is from Wisconsin. She moved to Colorado in 2015. Dani has worked in veterinary medicine for 10 years. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is building lasting relationships with clients.

    When not at work Dani enjoys exploring the beautiful hiking trails that Colorado has to offer. She shares her home with her husband, daughter, three dogs and two cats.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Leah is from St. Louis, Missouri but moved to Colorado in 2013 to attend the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2017, Leah graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in both Neuroscience and Psychology with an emphasis on pre-veterinary medicine. Leah hopes to be a Veterinarian and is grateful to be gaining invaluable experience at Laurel, while meeting fantastic patients and clients along the way. In her spare time, Leah enjoys spending time outdoors with her German Shepherd, Josie, snow skiing, and nature photography.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Meagan was born and raised in Colorado. She has always had a passion for animals and grew up with boxers her whole life. She also had a cat, named Sawyer, and a horse, named Lewis. When Meagan got her first dog she ended up with a chihuahua puppy named Laynee. Outside of work, Meagan enjoys spending time with her family and Laynee. She is also learning how to sew and enjoys this as well. Meagan is a proud brain cancer survivor and is happy to be a new addition to our team.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Isabella (Bella) was born and raised in Denver, CO. She attended Westminster High School. Bella attended the Pima Medical Institute and received her veterinary assistant certificate. She has been an assistant for 2 years. Bella has 4 dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon, and a hamster. She also walks dogs, dog sits, and is currently in school for dog training. In Bella's free time she loves to go hiking with her pups, camping, fishing, and reading.


  • Laurie Walter
    Practice Manager

    Laurie has been with Laurel Veterinary Clinic since 1999. Being a native of Colorado she enjoys camping, spending time in the mountains, and traveling. Laurie has a son, daughter in law, two grandchildren, and a sweet grand dog named Jewels. Laurie is very proud of Laurel Veterinary Clinic and happy to be part of the clinic staff.

    Senior Client Care Representative

    Claudia was an Interior Designer for 8 years then switched into the the veterinary field. Since 2008 she has enjoyed educating clients and getting to know their four legged companions. She joined Laurel Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2014. She is excited to work with our clients each day. Outside of work, Claudia enjoys volunteering with the Colorado House Rabbit Society, sewing, hiking, running and traveling with her family and 9 year old Shepherd mix.

    Client Care Representative

    Krista is a Colorado Native. She graduated from PIMA Medical School in 2002 with a Certificate for Veterinary Assisting. After leaving the veterinary field for 6 years to work in the human medical field, she was called back to caring for animals. In her spare time, she likes hiking, and exploring all around Colorado, with her husband & 2 kids. She also enjoys crocheting and spending time with her 2 cats (Madball &; Domino) and her dog Joie.

  • Rebecca Firth
    Client Care Representative

    Rebecca is a Pennsylvania native who recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family. She most recently worked in human medicine as a pharmacy technician, but after many years of volunteering at animal shelters, she is excited for a new career in the veterinary field. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dog Ali, spending time with her three young nephews, and traveling.

  • Melody Wooford
    Client Care Representative

    Melody Wofford is a Colorado native who was born in Denver. Although she loves different kinds of animals, dogs are her favorite. Maybe it has something to do with her last name? She attended The University of Denver and majored in marketing. Her work experience includes customer service across different industries. In her free time she enjoys traveling, time with family, and trying new foods.
