Posted By : Krista Posted : 5/6/2010 Comments : My husband and I visited Laurel Vet Clinic for the first time in May 2010. Our 14 year old dog Daisy hadn't been to the vet in 10 years. She had always been very healthy. I came home from lunch to find Daisy unable to walk and very sick. We were turned away from 2 clinics before finding ourselves at Laurel. They welcomed us with open arms and the entire staff treated us like family. Daisy passed away this morning with the help of a vet from Laurel. I cannot express my gratitude to every employee we came into contact with during our visits this week. Dr. Moreheard was so caring and really took the time to explain to us what was going on, when I picked Daisy up earlier in the week it was Dr. Morehead that was outside walking her, I actually got emotional that day, it was jsut so amazing to see how much he cared about our old girl. The tech's inside were equally as caring, they showed me exactly how to give Daisy fluids and sent me home feeling well prepared. The women at reception could not have been more accomodating, I mean they really are welcoming and friendly beyond the call of duty. I will reccomend Laurel to every single animal owner I know and they will certainly be our vet choice when we take the animal ownership leap again. Thank you so much for everything you did to make this difficult situation more palateable for our family. Sincerely, The Florea Family

Posted : 2/10/2010 Comments : I feel very lucky to have found this Vet clinic! When we first rescued our puppy Lola, Laurel did a free Wellness Exam on our new puppy. From this first day, as Dr Infante examined her, I knew that, at least this Dr was not only thorough but very caring and informative! When it came time for her shots, and her spay later, and then her getting sick with Kennel cough later, we had met all 3 Dr's and I was quite surprised that they all were Great! Not once did I feel rushed with my many questions. Not once, did I ever feel that they were in it for money, like I have at other vets, with my other pets.
I love how Dr Bixel communicates with me and listens to all my questions. I'm sure he knows by now I'm a paranoid dog owner, when I brought my dog in for sneezing! Not once did he make me feel silly, but instead called a few days later to see how Lola was doing.
When we had to put our diabetic cat down a few weekends ago at an emergency clinic, Dr Infante called to give her condolences. I truly heard her sorrow on the other line.
I will never take my dog to another Vet if I can help it. Lola loves it here too, which is pretty amazing since she's not fond of people poking her and she even has a fear of men, but Loves Dr Bixel!

Posted : 10/30/2009 Comments : We've been regulars with Laurel for at least 16 years. What a terrific place. As my wonderful Prince Yermak grew older, Dr. Moorehead was so patient and understanding, in a way, treating both of us. During Yermak's last days, he continued to help us, to be sure we were doing the best for him and then afterwards, to reassure me that we'd made the best decisions. I thought truly that was my last dog. But, along came Yeti (named for the Tibetan Bigfoot.. he's white, has big feet and his behavior is abominable). I will never, ever forget the laugh from Dr. Bixel and Dr. Moorehead when we brought the new fluff ball in! As this new guy was a bit more rambunctious than my selective memory recalled of Yermak, Dr. Moorehead kept reassuring that Yeti was such a happy dog! I love them all there. Their knowledge and expertise is always tempered by reasonableness, practicality and gentleness. And my questions are never treated as silly. Great doctors, great staff! ff

In Mexico , Thanksgiving Day is called El dia de accion del gracias, or the day of the action of thanks, which is a wonderful way of characterizing we sometimes trivialize.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the way I/we have been treated at Laurel Veterinary Clinic.
I had the good fortune to find my dog, Skipper, 3 years ago, at the Boulder Humane Society. Because of the proximity of another clinic, we have utilized the services of the same for 3 years.
When we had a need that was urgent, but not immediate, I called them. They were less than kindly in the way they handled our need. I called your office, and was treated warmly and caringly. From the first phone call, I have been impressed with the staff, Dr Bixel, and Dr. Moorehead. You are all very much appreciated!
As a physician, my philosophy is based on the oath I took years ago. I will not spare myself when others are suffering. When I come to Laurel , I have the feeling that I am in the place where others feel as do I.
I can only hope that we perform as well as you all do, and that our patients feel about us as Skipper and I do about you.
Thank you all for everything you do, and the way you do it!!
Dr. Tom James
