Meet Our Doctors
Jason johnson, DVM, M.S.
Dr. Johnson attended the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. He is a skier, avid runner and cyclist, and has competed in several ultra-distance races. He lives with his wife, young daughter and yellow Labrador, Gunny, in Arvada. In addition to his veterinary doctorate, Dr. Johnson holds a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Miami. In his early professional career, he worked with several specialists and has developed interests in ophthalmology, dentistry, and internal medicine.
Susan infante, DVM
Dr. Susan K. Infante is from Arkansas and enjoys a busy family that includes 3 miniature horses. She studied Chemistry before earning her Doctorate at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Infante completed her internship at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital and moved to Colorado to work at the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado. She joined Laurel Veterinary Clinic in 2007 and appreciates dentistry, orthopedic (and general) surgery and emergency medicine. Dr. Infante is a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, the AVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Chelsea Schuster, DVM
Dr. Chelsea Schuster completed her medical and surgical internship at Wheat Ridge Veterinary Hospital. She is an honors graduate of the University of Illinois Veterinary School. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine especially internal medicine, pain management and wound care. She spends her free time traveling and hiking with her fiance and two adorable Labradors, Duncan and Berkeley.
ken bixel, VMD, M.S.
Dr. Ken Bixel is a native Oregonian and enjoys cycling, skiing and running. He and his wife have 2 young kids and 1 cat. Dr. Bixel is interested in preventative health care and believes it is key to your pets happiness. He is always amazed at the complexity of the body and its systems and being able to analyze data in order to better understand it.
Dr. Bixel earned his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and has a Masters Degree in Biology. He has authored several scientific papers and is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bixel is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the AVMA and the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society. He likes all areas of veterinary care, especially critical care medicine and emergency surgery.
