New Pet Exams

In order to ensure your new puppy or kitten gets the best possible start towards a lifetime of good health, we recommend introducing us to your little one at 8 weeks of age for Laurel Veterinary's Complete Initial Puppy or Kitten Exam. At this first appointment, your veterinarian will check for the following and discuss any and all of your concerns regarding your kitten or puppy:

  • Clear eyes, ears and nose
  • Heart and respiration
  • Abdomen palpation
  • Proper bite placement
  • Any signs of infection or parasites
  • Proper growth and development
  • Presence of hernia
  • Initial vaccinations and a proper vaccination schedule tailored to your pet

It is extremely helpful for us to have you arrive about 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time for you to fill out paperwork about your new arrival. To ensure continuity of care, please bring any previous paperwork (breeder, shelter, vaccination clinic, etc.) with you.
